BLUSCA stands for Brgy. Lawa Unified Senior Citizens Association. It was established on November 23, 2024, through an election initiated by the City of Calamba Social Services Department and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), with support from the Brgy. Ang BLUSCA ay nangangahulugang Brgy. Lawa Unified Senior Citizens Association. Ito ay itinatag noong Nobyembre 23, 2024, sa pamamagitan ng isang halalan na pinangunahan ng City of Calamba Social Services Department at Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), sa tulong ng Brgy. Lawa Sangguniang Barangay.

Membership is open to all Filipino citizens aged 60 and above residing in Brgy. Lawa. Members can participate in various programs and receive benefits and privileges in accordance with R.A. No. 9994 (2010).  

Ang pagiging miyembro ay bukas sa lahat ng mamamayang Pilipino na may edad 60 pataas na nakatira sa Brgy. Lawa. Maaaring makilahok ang mga miyembro sa iba't ibang programa at makatanggap ng mga benepisyo at pribilehiyo alinsunod sa R.A. No. 9994 (2010).

 Interested individuals can register by visiting the Brgy. Lawa Barangay Hall or by filling out the online registration form available on the BLUSCA website. Download for Had copy of registration form. 

Maaaring magparehistro ang mga interesadong indibidwal sa pamamagitan ng pagbisita sa Brgy. Lawa Barangay Hall o sa pamamagitan ng pagpuno ng online registration form na makikita sa website ng BLUSCA. Maaari ding i-download ang kopya ng registration form.

·  Health and Wellness Programs: Free medical and dental services, including check-ups, dental care, and vaccinations at barangay health centers. Physical fitness activities such as organized exercises, dance sessions, and yoga classes are also offered to enhance health and mobility.

·  Social and Recreation: Cultural events like Elderly Filipino Week to honor contributions, and engaging programs such as games, storytelling sessions, and hobby clubs to foster social interaction and mental stimulation.

·  Livelihood &Workshops on crafts, gardening, and entrepreneurship, along with income-generating projects like community gardens and handicraft production supported by the barangay.

·  Educational Program Literacy and numeracy classes, as well as technology training on basic computer and smartphone use to enhance skills and connectivity.

·  Support Services Assistance with social pension applications for financial aid and home care support through volunteer visits to help frail or bedridden individuals with daily activities.

·  Advocacy and Right Information sessions on rights, benefits, and government programs, as well as access to legal assistance for issues like elder abuse or property rights.

• Mga Programa para sa Kalusugan at Kabutihan: Libreng serbisyong medikal at dental, kabilang ang mga check-up, pangangalaga sa ngipin, at mga bakuna sa mga health center ng barangay. Mayroon ding mga pisikal na aktibidad tulad ng mga organisadong ehersisyo, sayaw, at klase ng yoga upang mapabuti ang kalusugan at kalakasan.

• Sosyal at Libangan: Mga kultural na kaganapan tulad ng Elderly Filipino Week bilang pagkilala sa mga kontribusyon, at mga nakakatuwang programa tulad ng mga laro, pagsasalaysay ng kwento, at mga hobby clubs upang mapalaganap ang sosyal na interaksyon at mental na pagpapasigla.

• Kabuhayan at Mga Workshop: Mga pagsasanay sa paggawa ng handicrafts, paghahardin, at pagiging negosyante, pati na rin ang mga proyektong kumikita tulad ng mga community garden at paggawa ng handicraft na suportado ng barangay.

• Pang-edukasyong Programa: Mga klase sa pagbasa, pagsulat, at matematika, pati na rin ang mga pagsasanay sa teknolohiya tulad ng paggamit ng mga computer at smartphone upang mapaunlad ang kasanayan at konektividad.

• Serbisyo ng Suporta: Tulong sa aplikasyon ng social pension para sa pinansyal na tulong at suporta sa pangangalaga sa bahay sa pamamagitan ng mga boluntaryong pagbisita upang matulungan ang mga may kahinaan o bedridden sa kanilang pang-araw-araw na gawain.

• Adbokasiya at Tamang Impormasyon: Mga sesyon ukol sa mga karapatan, benepisyo, at mga programang pang-gobyerno, pati na rin ang akses sa legal na tulong para sa mga isyu tulad ng pang-aabuso sa nakatatanda o mga karapatan sa ari-arian.

Monthly Officers and BOD meetings are held at the Brgy. Lawa Session Hall every 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. where members can get to know each other and discuss development plans, rules of engagement, and more.

Ang mga buwanang pulong ng mga Opisyal at BOD (Board of Directors) ay ginaganap sa Brgy. Lawa Session Hall tuwing ikalawang Sabado ng buwan mula 9:00 am hanggang 11:00 am. Dito, magkakaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga BOD at Officers na  pag-usapan ang mga plano sa pag-unlad, mga patakaran ng pakikilahok, at iba pa.
